Why Organic Makeup & Skincare Is Better

Why Organic Makeup & Skincare Is Better

The Pros of Handmade Organic Beauty

#organic #beauty #makeup #skincare

Organic Makeup and Skincare products are very different from what you're used to if you're purchasing all of your products from a high end retail or drug store.

Be prepared to be excited about these types of "handmade" products for beauty when you buy because they're nothing like anything you've ever tried before.

Organic makeup and skincare products are becoming more and more of a trend in the United States because they're effective, affordable, and they offer a much healthier alternative to what we've had to deal with in the past.

The Pros of Organic Beauty

  • Affordable.  Always!  Don't Let Anyone Tell You Any Different...
  • Good Organic Makeup Foundation doesn't oxidize meaning it doesn't turn yellow or orange on your face and doesn't melt off before lunch time.
  • Good Organic Makeup doesn't settle in the lines and sits on top of the skin's surface therefore it doesn't absorb into your skin pores.
  • If you forget to wash your organic makeup off there are really no bad consequences.
  • You can mix most organic makeup powders to lighten or darken shades and add intensity.

  • Great organic makeup can be used in a dry or wet (foiled) state for extreme drama.

  • Great organic makeup never goes bad if it's properly stored and kept cool.

IN ADDITION...

  • Fresh!  Most (not all) organic products are handmade and packaged fresh for you. These products do not contain sophisticated chemicals and toxins. Products aren't sitting on a shelf somewhere for years waiting for you to purchase them so there isn't a need to fill them with all of the unhealthy ingredients that are used--- only to preserve their shelf life for profit.
  • Natural!  It can be confusing at times to tell the difference between "organic" and "natural" as a lot of beauty companies use the term "natural" to describe products that really aren't.  A new term, "all-natural" has recently surfaced to describe those products that are in fact, "truly organic" with absolutely no preservatives or chemicals in the mix.
  • Truly Organic!  Truly organic products contain only those ingredients that are "living" and therefore are really "all-natural".  They don't contain preservatives, chemicals or other toxins and in most cases are safe for all people including children.  For example, I could stir up a tablespoon of my foundation powder in a glass of water and drink it ---and my body would metabolize it as a natural substance without worry of  being poisoned
  • Effective!  I've found that most organic beauty products are way more effective than anything I've ever tried from a large retail company.  I used to spend a lot of money at high-end retail stores for the latest and greatest foundation or moisturizer but I've found that there is absolutely no comparison to organic products, when it comes to effectiveness.

Organic makeup and skincare products usually contain key natural ingredients that heal and protect the skin and perform ten times better than retail products.

Organic skincare products are always more effective because they're not watered down and cut with cheap fillers and chemical-laden ingredients.

Just because a major retail beauty company claims that their product contains "aloe" or "hyaluronic acid" doesn't mean that it's going to be any more effective than the brand that doesn't use these ingredients, simply because these ingredients are 1-2% of the product---don't offer the results that you're seeking.

Truly organic beauty contains raw "all-natural" ingredients that aren't cut with other unhealthy chemicals and preservatives and you'll find that when an organic product claims that their products contain aloe or white willow bark, you can be assured that there is a very high concentration of these ingredients in the product, therefore giving you the results that you desire the very first time you try them.

Ditch the Chemicals and try an organic beauty product today!

I promise you that once you try these products, you'll never go back to high-end retail for a solution.

Second Time Around-Wedding Gowns

A Bridal Gown for Your "Second Time" Around...

The first time I got married, I was barely 22 years old.  I had no idea what to look for in a husband---much less the perfect wedding dress...

However, should I ever marry again (and catch up with some friends who are already on their third and fourth nuptials)---I feel sure that my choices for both will make a lot more sense to me ---and I know that I'll never think back and shake my head, saying to myself ---

"What the hell were you thinking anyway?"

A simple, flowing and lovely dress is all I'll need for my perfect day.

Is your wedding dress still your absolute favorite choice?

Is Your Makeup Making You Sick? Toxic Makeup & Skincare

MAKEUP TOXINS CHEMICALS TO WATCH OUT FOR

TOXIC MAKEUP & CHEMICALS TO AVOID

Is Your Makeup Making You Sick?

TOP TOXIC INGREDIENTS IN YOUR MAKEUP

PHTHALATES

Phthalates are a group of chemicals that are disruptive to the endocrine system.

Your endocrine system is responsible for hormone production. Interference caused by these chemicals can lead to developmental, reproductive, and neurological damage.

These chemicals are used to plasticize your makeup products, giving them more flexibility which helps to better hold color and scent. You'll find these chemicals in everything from your deodorant to your nail polish and hairspray.

healthy-makeup-clear-skin-mineralsPARABENS
Parabens mimic estrogen and have been detected in human breast cancer cells and tissue.

Parabens also interfere with the immune system, the nervous system and the reproduction system.

Parabens have gained a bad reputation over the years so companies have replaced them with PHENOXYETHANOL however this ingredient has many of the same harmful effects.
Phthlates are usually classified under "fragrance" which are usually considered "trade secrets" and makeup companies do not have to reveal exactly which ingredients are included on the label.

LEAD

LEAD has been removed from house paints and primers, but it's still being used in our makeup foundations, lipsticks and even in your favorite whitening toothpaste.

healthy-organic-makeup-clear-skin-minerals

A recent FDA study found that over 400 popular makeup brands contained over 7.19ppm of lead in their beauty products. Lead makes it's way into your makeup products through color additives and these are absorbed by your skin and lips and directly into your bloodstream.

FORMALDEHYDE RELEASING PRESERVATIVES

Whenever chemicals break down, they release a harmful formaldehyde gas which is classified as a known human carcinogen by the US Department of Health and the International Cancer Research Agency.

Inhalation of these gases is harmful but there is no regulation on the use of these in makeup and skincare products in the United States.

Check Your Makeup Ingredients for...

DMDM hydantoin
BHUT (butylated hydroxytoluene)
bronopol
diazolidinyl urea
sodium hydrozymethylglycinate
imidazolidinyl urea
methenamine
quarternium-15, Quaternium-18, Quaternium-26

Japan recently banned this ingredient in cosmetics and the United States Food and Drug Administration has released a "consumer alert warning" that this ingredient can DEPRESS THE NERVOUS SYSTEM and cause vomiting and diarrhea in babies and children.

OCTINOXATE

Ingredient found in makeup foundations, this is an unstable chemical --linked with endocrine disruption and thyroid disorders.

healthy-organic-makeup-clear-skin-mineralsp-PHENYLENEDIAMINE
A coal tar dye sometimes listed as CL followed by a five-digit number. It’s TOXIC to the RESPIRATORY SYSTEM and contaminated with heavy metals.

CARBON BLACK

This ingredient found in eyeliners, it’s linked to cancer and organ toxicity.
Look for other names such as: channel black, pigment black 6, pigment black 7, acetylene black, froflow, arogen, arotone, arovel, arrow, atlantic, and black pearls.

SILOXANES

These chemicals are commonly used in cosmetics to smooth and moisten the products but they are known to disrupt the endocrine system and are toxic to the reproductive system.

Look for ingredient :
-siloxane or -methicone and avoid these products.

The makeup and beauty industry isn't going to give you this information so we feel that it's necessary from time to time to remind you about what you're putting on your skin and into your body.

If you're looking for natural and organic makeup and skincare products with healthy, skin nourishing ingredients and natural preservatives, you should definitely give Clear Skin Minerals a try!

NATURAL BEAUTY 2017

NATURAL BEAUTY

NATURAL BEAUTY NOW 2017

Why Natural Beauty Always Looks Better

I was reading up on current and future beauty trends today and I was really disappointed with my findings.

Okay, just tell me when RED EYE SHADOW became the hottest eye makeup trend?

Then tell me WHY ON EARTH would you want to be seen with your lipstick smeared all over your face instead of your lips?

Another crazy beauty trend to consider---leave off the mascara as part of your makeup routine?

The world of beauty has apparently gone absolutely crazy--- so I'm here to remind you of what NATURAL BEAUTY really looks like....(and I'm not sure if you're going to find that anywhere near a runway fashion show any time soon)....

NATURAL BEAUTY TIPS FOR LOOKING YOUNGER

NATURAL BEAUTY TIPS TO LOOKING YOUNGER

Beauty Tips for Looking Younger

Here are some timeless secrets to younger looking skin--no matter what your age.

Humans have been obsessed with beauty since the beginning of time.

The hard and sad truth is that we begin the aging process as soon as we pop out of the womb.

Each and every day of our lives our bodies slough off and regenerate new cells. The speed at which that process takes place when we are children is vastly different as we get older.

I'm sure that you are bombarded daily with commercial messages and beauty tips that attempt to lure you into believing that the most recent miracle drug or face cream is just what you need to fight off the ravages of Mother Nature.

However, we are living longer as a whole and singularly, that can be a curse or a blessing, depending on your perspective.

The best route to natural beauty and healthy skin is to take care of what you have.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

The truth is that your skin takes a beating from the environment every single day so here are some of our favorite beauty tips for keeping your skin fresh and healthy:

1: Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water everyday!

That does not include soda, caffeine or any other type of liquid, even if it is low cal.

Soda (even diet soda) and carbonated drinks have a high concentration of sodium.

Sodium retains fluid so you need additional fluid to hydrate and flush your body free of toxins.

Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses a day!  Add lemon juice to spruce up the flavor.

2: Protect your skin from harmful ultra violet (UV) rays.

We all love the sun. We love being in it and we love having a beautiful sun-kissed tan.

The truth is that you can poison yourself with too much sunshine.

UV rays cause skin cancer and if that isn’t bad enough it causes your skin to age faster than it should, contributing to unsightly wrinkles.

If you must play in the sun, make certain you are using an adequate sunscreen, especially for your face and never leave home without it!

3: Keep your skin clean.

Use a soft warm cloth. Skin does not require scrubbing.

You will ALWAYS do more harm than good if you continue to scrub and tug at your skin.

4: The best cure for wrinkles is never to acquire them!

If you are like most of us, you didn’t listen to your Mom when she tried to tell you to stay in the shade, stand up straight and stop squinting!

5: Eat healthy.

Knowing how and what to eat can make a huge difference in how you feel.

Improper eating habits can cause depression, weight gain, illness and an overall lethargy.

Weight gain causes your skin to stretch.

As you get older, it loses it's elasticity and you're left with sagging skin so the best solution is to maintain a proper weight.

A rule of thumb for eating habits---Don't ever eat more calories than you consume.

Don't go one single day without doing something extra and physical for at least 30 minutes per day.

This can be three ten minute walks or 30 minutes of vigorous aerobics, or 12 minutes of weight lifting and 18 minutes of walking.

6: Don't worry, be happy.

A happy outlook appears to trigger the release of endorphins.

Endorphins relax the cardiovascular system and cytokines which alert the immune system to pay attention in detecting abnormalities like cancer cells.

Listen carefully to yourself.

If you have put yourself down since childhood---negative subliminal messages can take their toll by turning you into a pessimist.

Spend one week writing down the phrases you use in your “self talk.”

Chances are you will find that you repeat a dozen or so phrases over and over again that reinforce that negative image.

If you know about them, you can change them.

Outer beauty and inner joy always go hand in hand.

QUICK TIPS for INCREASING JOY?

Make a list of at least 10-20 good things that happen to you every day.

Laugh a lot. You’ll heal your body and your mind.

Discover a new challenge each month.

Try meditating for just five to 10 minutes each day.

7: Sex After 50 – Ha!

The importance of physical intimacy actually depends on the couple.

An alarming number of men used to give up on sex after 60 and many women felt that their sex life ended with menopause. Thankfully, this is no longer the case.

Sex during middle age can actually become better and more satisfying than ever before.

Maturity gives a couple more experience in lovemaking.

The children are usually grown and left home and the pressures of building a career and day to day life are usually less stressful than in younger years.

So Is Beauty Really Skin Deep?

The answer is yes and no.  It’s a paradox, isn’t it?

True beauty begins from the inside out.

Just remember that getting older doesn't have to mean getting old.
