GREASY HAIR

Vinegar is an effective de-greaser for super oily hair.  Shampoo your hair, rinse well and pour 1/4 cup of vinegar over it and rinse thoroughly again.

FABRIC SOFTENER

Simply use vinegar in place of your liquid fabric softener and you'll never know the difference.

STUCK GUM

You can remove gum on your fabrics by warming a cup of vinegar in the microwave and then dipping an old toothbrush in vinegar and brushing over gently until the fabric until the gum comes out.

UNDERARM STAINS

Soak underarm areas in vinegar for 10-15 minutes before washing and all yellow stains will disappear prior to the rinse cycle.  If the stains are still visible, make a paste of vinegar and baking soda and rub it over the stains prior to washing.

SUEDE CLEANER

Grease or dirt spots on your suede?  Just dip an old toothbrush into white vinegar and brush gently over the stains until they disappear.

HARD BOILED EGGS

Make peeling your boiled eggs a breeze!  Just add a teaspoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of salt to the water you're cooking them in.  Vinegar will also keep eggs from cracking during cook time.

MAKE PASTA LESS STARCHY

Put a few drops of vinegar into the pasta water as it boils and the starch will be reduced, making the pasta less "sticky".  This vinegar trick also works for rice so you can add a splash of vinegar for every cup of uncooked rice for better texture.

GET RID OF GARDEN WEEDS

You can use straight white vinegar from the bottle to spray on weeds or grass that come up in your garden or through the cracks in the sidewalk or patio.  The wees will die and stay dead for several months after treatment.

REMOVE PAINT FROM GLASS

Hot vinegar can be used to remove paint from glass.  Just microwave a cup of vinegar until hot and then dip your cloth into the vinegar and wipe all the pain away.

PROLONG FLOWERS

You can prolong the life of your cut flowers by adding 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of sugar to the flower water.  No commercial plant food is necessary.

SMOKE SMELLS

To remove any smoke smells from your clothes, hang them on your shower rod and fill the bathtub with warm water.  Add a cup of vinegar to the bath water and the smell will be gone by morning.
