Get Ready for a Wild & Crazy & Nude & Natural 2017
BEACH LIFE LOOKS GREAT ON EVERYONE THIS SPRING & SUMMER

Current beauty trends indicate that 2017 is the year for the return of  "The Natural Look".

Therefore SKIN should be any fashionista's main concern right now.  Getting it healthy and glowing before that first sunny day when it's warm enough for the pool!

Dramatic looks are out the door for 2017 and I couldn't be happier!

This year will be about the "art of contouring & shadowing, creating illusions, with various strobing powders and radiance creams and basic slightly shimmer bronze veils and powders that give you that instant and natural sun-kissed look ---yet also popular, an array of classic cool and warm toned shades that highlight the face for all fashions and all moods.

BUT GET READY FOR FUN BECAUSE IT'S MY PREDICTION THAT THESE CLASSIC SUPER MODEL LOOKS WILL BE BACK IN BEFORE SPRING AND LAST FOR QUITE A WHILE.

CHRISTIE BRINKLEY
Glow Kits & Highlighter Creams have become extremely popular over the last 6 months and they're usually color coordinated and chosen by someone who knows about the best palettes of color and texture to allow for lots of different makeup looks.

Finishing Veils work a lot like Bronzers and Radiance Creams, they're just in the form of a silk or satin textured powder.  They're easy to use and are usually less expensive than a radiance cream. If your skin is acne prone or severely oily, a radiance cream might not always be the best choice for your skin type.

A finishing veil acts as an oil control powder too---so I usually recommend a powder contour, highlighter or bronzer for those trying to get control of their chaotic skin. Once the skin is normalized ---all organic and most mineral makeup textures should be fine for your skin.

Janice Dickinson's look above follows along the same lines as the newest trend in makeup and beauty with heavy tan-bronze blush powders and creams used not only on and underneath the cheekbones
---but as a light eye shadow and a "powder-over" on her lip stain here.

MAKEUP TRENDS FOR 2017 SPRING SUMMER
ELLE MACPHERSON
Elle MacPherson, a very popular supermodel and a long time veteran of Sports Illustrated and their yearly swimsuit collection edition. Natural looking makeup and hair all the time and she was absolutely radiant on film and camera. Her across the cheeks and bridge of the nose contouring gave her that look you get on your first day at the beach, without the sunburn or raccoon eyes.

Rachel Hunter...another example of natural beauty using contour powders and creams to give depth and definition and again, that sun-kissed, radiant beach-life look with the sandy flowing hair. Here she's wearing an almost complete nude lip color but has outlined the edges in a smokey mauve and feathered stroke to obtain a fuller appearing lip pout.

It appears to me that HEAVY MAKEUP and HEAVY DRAMA has dominated the makeup scene for several years now and now I think it's time to return to something more natural and healthy for our skin and our future complexions.

On the WILD and DRAMATIC list for 2017 makeup is colored mascara (particularly the electric or cobalt blue) and nude water-liners for the eyes.

Freckles are also making a comeback so if you weren't blessed with cute tiny freckles, you can add them under eyes and around nose and tops of cheekbones with a waterproof powder liner or dots of freckle colored powder or bronzer cream/powder.

Learn to create different looks with various shades and textures of contour creams and highlighters.

Always start with LESS product than you think you'll need to avoid a disaster or waste of your makeup.  Use a really dense, flat top, vegan and synthetic foundation buffing brush to apply creams and powders and work them into the skin gently using small circular motions.

Always prime your lips before any color (nude or vibrant) to make sure your lip color is true and to give your lipstick or lip gloss a better canvas for extended wear throughout the day.
